Silver Champagne Flutes

A pair of sterling silver champagne flutes which are handspun and the bowls gold plated.

They can be boxed in singles or pairs. This price is for a pair.

A difficult product for the Master Spinner/Silversmith to make as 15 operations are needed to convert the 'reluctant 'silver flat round blank with a circumference of 19" to what is almost an open ended tube with a circumference of just 6". A substantial reduction. This describes the bowl part only. The base and stem are then spun, which is another further 4 operations. The silver flutes are then soldered together, hallmarked, filed and polished before finally gilding. These can also be made from carat golds or platinum.

A pair of silver champagne flutes, candlelight, a delicious meal on the table - the perfect way to enjoy a romantic meal for 2- Valentines day, an anniversary or birthday. Silver shows you care about quality and attention to detail and it has become a subtle status symbol in recent years. For that special occasion where a group of people come together, at Christmas for example, champagne poured into sterling silver flutes makes the day even more special.

Present the bride and groom with a pair on their wedding day, engraved with their names and the date. These will become a treasured heirloom to be passed from generation to generation. More importantly silver is at its best when used, so use it at every opportunity. As a point of interest my present landlord had a pair bought for him and his wife as a wedding present which they still use regularly today.

The first people to make champagne were a group of French Benedictine monks around 1660. The region of Champagne in France has a cooler short growing season and the grapes are picked late in the year. The secondary fermentation that takes place in the bottle the following spring creates the carbon dioxide bubbles that are the sparkle in champagne.

These silver flutes are a prime example of the Campbell claim that 'Nothing leaves the Brentwood workshop until Master Silversmith John Campbell is completely satisfied'
